So I start a new job on Monday. I've been using GTD since I finished undergrad in 2004--I was introduced to it by my very first boss in my job interview for that job, and it's been my SOP ever since. It's seen me through two full-time jobs and six-and-a-half years in a Ph.D. program, and on Monday, I start my first post-Ph.D. job managing a grant project for a research firm.
My supervisor wasn't sure she'd have my workstation set up, and said I could maybe bring my own laptop for the first day. I told her no problem, and then said only this:
"The only real tool I need to do fantastic work is an inbox. And maybe something to write with."
On to a new adventure, still getting things done.
