Seemingly sometimes . . . in emptying one's inbox(es) ?

Seemingly sometimes when Creating might be an appropriate GTD concept right from the get-go as another possible appropriate engagement in emptying one's inbox(es) ?

In other words:

Is this item useful for what is currently undergoing Creativity, needs Creative commencing, or perhaps a Creativity for Someday/Maybe ?

While doing so, it might be good to consider this among all of one's personal system 'equals':
Intrinsically, Extrinsically~Internally, and Externally for worthy appropriateness ?

As such, the underlying question might be what makes this Creative appropriately worthy ?

Perhaps by doing so one can improve one's probabilities of 'waking-up' to what one has been focusing on when all is said and done in regards to one's personal system 'equals': Intrinsically, Extrinsically~Internally, and Externally worthy?

After all, if sleeping is a productive GTD understanding as a means for creativity, then all else is seemingly as well ?

As one sees GTD fits best. . . .

Hi gtd solo-studente. I'm struggling with the meaning of your question. For instance, how do you define "Creativity" etc?

You talk about engagement in terms of emptying your inbox. I think the GTD stages are - Collect , Clarify, Organise, Review and Engage. I would say that when going through your Inbox you are at the Clarifying step.

So appropriate engagement with your inbox is to clarify each item.

Your post implies to me that an item might get special treatment because it is touching on something "creative". In practice, I find, I have to clarify each and every item in turn, however mundane or earth-shattering it might be. But, having got that habit established, then something happens. As David Allen explains in the Getting Things Done book, getting current on and in control of what's in your in tray and on your mind can unleash a creative, bouyant energy that spins off lots of new, creative ideas.

I guess these ideas are captured and go into your inbox!

I apologise if I have misunderstood what you meant and, as we say in my country, am barking up the wrong tree!

@Quicksilver10

Thank you for your reply

As such replying as reliably 'loosely' as possible

"how do you define "Creativity" etc?"
Creating/Making something that did not exist prior; which allows for lots of encouraging opportunities:

All post to this forum was creation
Making a cup of coffee
Serving up Spaghetti as David Allen has expressed
Even, taking out the Trash creates space for increased creative capacity . . . everything is an End until it becomes a Means?

Leonardo Da' Vinci had lots of creative creations between making morning caffè and the twenty plus years of 'completing' the Mona Lisa?

ENGAGMENT

Many ways to see 'Engagement' . . . if one's needs to see 'Inbox' to be an @Context list(s) for Engagement, then so be it, problem solved?

On this end, 'Engagement' . . . from David Allen's perspective is A P P R O P R I A T E N E S S

For example, when @Quicksilver10 is one day Engaging in addressing the United Nations General Assembly, undoubtedly @Quicksilver10 will be doing so appropriately relative to the assembly itself and all other concerns?

As such, on this end appropriate Engagement can have nuances with appropriateness remaining key relative to all other life's concerns:

I. Non-Volitional Engagement(s) . . . 'auto-pilot' . . . repeatable daily activities . . . breathing, cleaning, hygiene, sleeping, walking, etc.

II. Volitional . . . Engagement without Excess and without Defect . . . (Decrease Emotions . . . Increase Understanding(s)? )

III. 'Quasi-Volitional' Engagement(s):
External 'sixth-sense'
Internal 'third-sense' [Appetites {Passions-&-Emotions}, Phantasm {Imagination-&-Memory}]
'Instinctiveness'
Intuition(s)
Subconsciously

"Your post implies to me that an item might get special treatment because it is touching on something "creative"."
Absolutely

Again, thank you for your reply . . . hopefully the above herein makes humble sense from this end

Creating . . . being able to do anything without distraction(s) is one of the great gifts of the GTD methodology for appropriate creative engagement . . . even when emptying Inboxe(s)?

Thank you very much

As one sees GTD fits best. . . .

Ps. Originally "Clarifying" was deemed "Processing" and appropriately 'changed' to "Clarifying" . . . unofficially, perhaps because all Five GTD Work-Flow Steps are in themselves "Processes"?
