summarizing what I took from the book "checklist manifesto" in appreciation of user @Wilson Ng

The author mentions checking his 3- to 5-year vision during his weekly review at 3 p.m. every Friday. However, the GTD weekly review does not require reviewing long-term vision every week.
The GTD weekly review includes three main headers as per below (details of each step under each header his documented in the book and available as a download from this forum (Weekly review checklist).

1 Get Clear
2 Get Current
3 Get Creative

P.S. For those who watch the video and do this practice, I suggest you pause the video after each instruction to give yourself the time you need to do that step before continuing the video. If you feel stuck, you can continue the video, and try that step later. If you feel tired, you can take a break and continue later. If the whole thing is as clear as mud, don't worry. It will all clear up over time with learning and practice.

There are many ways to learn GTD. One way is to search for GTD videos on youtube. GTD Focus videos are very interesting and can also be found on youtube; they are created by the GTD Coaches. This forum is a great place to learn more about GTD and get help. A very good way to start learning GTD is directly from the original source by reading the updated edition of the GTD book by David Allen. Here's a link:

Hi, Emily.

I left a comment on the video, a transcribe.

https://www.youtube.com/?feature=fb...n6R3FgDyEULWP2vbkA_aem_YJ-2fe4tysibHyCNMEC7_w "

words were:
even though watching that once through - I feel like personally I wasn't able take everything in, cognise everything he shared in the video , just going once though (so should I re watch?

the creator Nathan - sounded like he was more advanced in the GTD process then myself.
explaining the whole system from scratch - should as how to process, the three habits and so forth.
and its a fact - that I'm not even properly implementing the summary info he shared in this video fully.

Or P.S.
background:

should I download use that 1 page summary he shared?

or How come I didn't choose to - go through this video when first shared it - it is something which directly influences, is entirely appropriate for myself

Here in,
above was (from last Wednesday)

"should I download use that 1 page summary he shared?"

I went over the document - and in PDF opener Microsoft edge - highlighted with pen or mouse words, after looking over the document - thought to myself overall. [please see attached PDF file readers]

it gave types tips "don't ever spend more than 2 minutes (when processing) each item on your list [which haven't been doing with my failed asana]

,it went over the basics of GTD
went over a slight different system also of "capturing items everyday - at one period of the day I believe.

"overall - this PDF sheet looked good for anyone trying to familiarize with the basics of GTD like myself , good tutorial sheet taking through the three cues of "capture" " and "process" and "review"

had words specifically
if I'm ever in the state again in life where I'm feel like I'm "idling" or in state of not being sure what to do (after done exercise for example.
I could maybe - go print this sheet off in my, with my fathers printer, and add this PDF sheet as another sheet to look at use, in addition to all previous sheets which users on this fourm recommended myself
- such as @gtdstudente

What I learned from productivity game
Is recommends literally scheduling at least 1 time a day
To ' do the process ,activity.

Is different to what user Wilson @Wilson Ng previously wrote to myself (of - check your lists without a limit (which felt like I was struggling with)."

@Mrs-Polifax
@FocusGuy comes to mind also"

" F @Mrs-Polifax at least to start with

I wrote transcribes notes quoted from one note

while I listened today literally :

1]I felt overall my transcribe wasn't best, would need to do it over again (as per the end bold
2] felt like listening to the actual podcast in a way "impeded " what I normally do following my normal GTD weekly review process as per my notes (with my physical asana sheets, where shared with other users such as @cfoley or @gtdstudente or @René Lie v says to start with

and actually - started having also backward further thoughts - how helpful doing certain things actually are as per my notes (and need to make further posts analysing these things

3) towards end - skipped some of the end steps, actually am not in a position feel to be able properly

WE ? or P.s. 4 would be actually making a separate thread for topic of this podcast and everything, maybe this will help me STN "

We will be guiding you through a weekly revieiw with seniour coahc meg edwards

You could watch all start to finish

Wheres - heres signal
Advice use this in addition to your GTD system

Now weekly review process. This is one of my favourite process, I have been taking people through this process. Common feedback a] wasn't so difficult, b] wasn't such bad use of the time.
Here we go
Step one, go ahead collect loose paper and materials*
People at a work station - not backlog -(what is back log defined as?)
This is really current, what's on your desk, wallet (why example of wallet, I keep that in back)
Not something currently working on
Sweep it up and put it on your in-basket [again what's perfect in basket suppose look like? - had example feels there's not enough space or , have one plastic box and 6 in trays- so, I can focus on desk space clear, that’s okay, you may need more time than 2 mins

Just want ahead of collecting, so go ahead.

Further example myself tim have words- what's point collecting loose stuff out on or in room - cos it doesn't seem make me feel better or does it
Were words? Could give example I seem to habitually always leave things out of place in my room

"which makes me feel - like lost certain belongings at certain time
Would way - to improve is tye keep things tidy as possible ( out of sight for example

4 14

Mental , step two is mental gathering
Collecting thoughts, don't have to collect every thought since, ask - what woke yourself up in middle on night, are you procrastinating on anything, anything have your attention, just write it down. Other thing about collection and doing mind sweep, doesn't mean have to do it, go head

Give up 5 minutes

Now lets go ahead an stop?

# question also - is saying for this time one should just literally try to capture everything which isn't written down (so maybe would help to look over at next actions list , or a 'mind sweep sheet?'

06:25
LIFE moves fast some times and sometimes we don't have time let it all go, it may not be complete, again that’s okay a little review is better than no review , if I could give you all one thing, it would be I have this time scheduled in my Calander

07:40 most people needs at least a day to get Ins to zero, most people aren't doing that, they think that they - need wait to weekly review

Going give you six minutes -
Could be mind sweet , could be e-mail

, did a four hour weekly review, , did a lot of processing
Going quickly , processing is really questions, about what going ask about your stuff, this is what I call the 3 Ds, once you know what next action is, can delegate to someone, or do you want to defer it on Calander or next actions list get it done as soon as possible, next action maybe want to make that into new project, once answered those questions, maybe want put it in list, if its not actionable

Then for example today, when doing mind sweep, was looking some action.

On my calls list I have next action on my financial planner, or if I need that piece of paper, may start acuminating all this paper

So lets go ahead and take this six minutes, just get into processing and organizing, so why don't you guys go head and start

@12 10 - okay fabulous, now question if get ins to zero completely, how much time would you intuviely say

X says 4 hours, X says all day cos backlog is huge, kate says got done in six mins, mark saying got to zero this morning, ok that’s fabulous, those folks - didn't finish processing and organizing, want you to go into Calander

Time get into zero on a regular basis, that’s why some people avoid weekly review , cos want

Now that’s a tip, in future when can't

14 :33, that’s something for you to all think about, we are now going to move into the get current, the first part is to review your next action list, you want to try to clear it up things change during the week, I am going to

If can't clean up all of your next actions list , just pick one on your list. When I did weekly review yesterday, was cleaning up my personal list, my at home list, took them off, some I deleted, some I incubated, so go ahead and pick as list, try to go through pick a list

, see with this list that the waiting for is actually, this is whatever list you created for yourself, want to clean up , go ahead and clean up

What love

17:13
This is a next opportunity in weekly review, that’s some best practices on step 4 reviewing next actions list

Two - next step five, co back on Calander, if doing regular basis, would just go previous week ,make sure there are no loose threads, find people catch things, give 2 mins and see capture anything, go ahead

18 :36 question box did anybody catch anything, by looking on Calander on regular basis, catch five things , hadn't put meeting on list, next step is to review upcoming Calander, I love this step, what I am doing, capturing any actions that I need to, another thing want look at, how are you all for Calander management, sometimes I really have to block out time to get stuff done overwise not going to happen, for those booked back to back, recommendation if have action which going take long sometimes need to book that go head
21:22
*skipped*
Moving on to next one, opportunity looking for waiting for list
For people don't have waiting for list - those things looking for other people to track, now this is kind of interesting , for those who have lot of volume, please don't wait weekly for … that’s part of your work, this is kind of higher level review, think todays X day, might want be bit proactive and check in with them, go ahead give two mins on this step go head start
*S

23:54 projects list
Intutive hit,
This is not a time really get into project planning, might need do some more thinking, think what

Next time in Calander to get all projects moving forward, projects to couple week, so what going to do is actually give six minutes on this step, ensure one next item for

However best use these
I don't always just review my projects list in weekly review, sometimes I just

25:31 six mins [voice said skip this step]
Then for those who light to share, what would like to find, did you realise some of the next projects are stale and need be put on someday or maybe list, its really clear , start making distinction, make sure time really successful, look into r+ d , so last step of get current part is review any relevant checklist, lot of people, -

This is something highlight intivie maybe haven't done it let, use it trigger any new actions, go ahead, see what goes up for you, give min
[skip*]

Now got some experience with getting clear and getting current, those of you who have a someday, maybe list, look at ones intuitively, let you weekly do that, now you have better, go ahead start [skip], now last

Last step of weekly review

Now you are , end up having call him, that’s perfect time do a weekly review, where feel are too busy - took him through and had ah moment, was do in busy trap, and now going do something completely different now, was

Give you minute now, deep breathe , see what shows up now got space, take a minute [skip]

Lets wrap that up, there you go folks, there's an hour weekly review, we now have some best practices
One is I want you to all go Calander and find slot for next weekly review
Some - people can't

What I do is finish, then schedule one do
Next is to divide weekly review into get clear and get current, get buddy system, find someone

32:55 that’s it for this week , now asking you what's your next action?
Best way get schedule

04 46 - example could try re do entire transcribe

Or worth do entire transcribe

WE - could be wroth give examples of typical things I would do in weekly review up to now"
