about basics of GTD - image attached here literally shows an extract of page in my inbox - where I have a gut feeling is not formatted best, I could enumerate upon this*1- , but basically its a picture of some contemplative writing I was having in my head (which was caused by thinking about the concept of inbox or mind sweep, it reads "how do I remove the more random unimportant thoughts from my head? - answer - is it by writing all the random less important thoughts out [because I have it in my mind wasn't that the theory allen was trying to share about reasoning to do MIND SWEEP?

The purpose or reasons why I was thinking of the above paraph - because I wasn't thinking to myself is there a best way in theory to actually be 'as focused as possible' in life.

'or figure out which are the best activities for yourself to be doing to bring yourself the most value [is what I am trying to express in writing.

I am not sure what your question is but I think what you have done here is excellent in GTD terms.

What you did was notice that something was on your mind. You captured it by writing it down and put it in your inbox.

You are worried about the format, but actually the format is fine. When you come to clarify, you will have a chance to decide what this means to you, what you want to do with it, and whether any actions or projects should be started because of it. Organising comes right after. This is where you write the actions and projects on the appropriate list and either file or throw away the piece of paper.

Most of my captured ideas get thrown away after I have clarified and organised. As such, the format of the captured item is not all that important.

I am not sure what your question
thanks for getting back
- do you know how properly I could format the picture above maybe rotate it by saving it in a JPEG after I roated - save as a again- would that work?

the first thing represented
was - Im not paper GTDing correctly - as that picture was in "inbox"

Wait a minute why do you write

don't you see the clear main question above written 'is there a best way in theory to actually be 'as focused as possible' in life?." - there were just few definite questions above
is but I think what you have done here is excellent in GTD terms.
I don't agree? Why would you write that Cfoley

What do you mean
When you come to clarify, you will have a chance to decide what this means to you, what you want to do with it, and whether any actions or projects should be started because of it.
right

What you just bin or destroy most of your ideas afterwards?
Then doesn't that make you feel you un productive having written them all out?'

I bin most of the pieces of paper in my inbox. The ideas might live on in the form of projects, actions or someday/maybes. Some of the pieces of paper in my inbox get filed directly in my reference system but most of the m go in the bin.

I think the system overall is quite efficient. Everything that is on my mind gets captured. Everything that was captured is processed and organised once and once only.

This is an interesting thread.

I am in the process of trying to start GTD. I'm playing with capture tools. I've learned that until I believe that the thought I put into a capture tool will be clarified in a timely manner, my mind won't let it go.

I wish I had coach / guru David Allen intoning soothingly in my ear, "You've written it on paper and put in in that notebook we bought at Office Depot. Don't worry, I promise we'll get back to it soon enough. Trust the process."

Yes, it will, but it takes a while. Like it was said in many threads, it is not the system or the Format it is the trust that consistency creates. Some things are on paper, others End up in Email, as long as I do my weekly review and my daily checkins I know nothing will get lost...

And as for that voice in you ear, I am sure there is a clip on YT you could find and put on repeat ;-)

your saying you think with certain thoughts - its best document them right away?
I wish I had coach / guru David Allen intoning soothingly in my ear, "You've written it on paper and put in in that notebook we bought at Office Depot.
your writing - sometimes your not aware whether you've actually done certain things (or were imagining of doing them - similar to myself)?
Don't worry, I promise we'll get back to it soon enough. Trust the process."

I don't understand this line above"
