Tip: Have 10 file folders for your personal taxes:
Taxes 0 for 2000
Taxes 1 for 2001
Taxes 2 for 2002
Taxes 3 for 2003
Taxes 4 for 2004
Taxes 5 for 1995
Taxes 6 for 1996
Taxes 7 for 1997
Taxes 8 for 1998
Taxes 9 for 1999

As you can see, it will work well as a "perpetual file" or "tickler".
 
Actually a better way to order it would be:

Taxes 4 for 2004 (front)
Taxes 3 for 2003
Taxes 2 for 2002
Taxes 1 for 2001
Taxes 0 for 2000
Taxes 9 for 1999
Taxes 8 for 1998
Taxes 7 for 1997
Taxes 6 for 1996
Taxes 5 for 1995 (back)
