the most basic starting point for a weekly review for people who don't feel like they have energy or time for it

GTD post literally drafting planning while having low energy levels weekly review

Giving examples

  • Since x time maybe 5 five days now since previous day off time - I remember I watched a video "mind sweep" which I could hyper link L - *1
Where - it gave the most basic level of mind sweep - and I was thinking - is it actually beneficial to do this with a weekly review for example? Key question
Then other thing - was giving sort of description of where I'm currently at with weekly review, example what did in last , wone - the points where I ended up stalling for example *2

Then 3 third - idea giving example of a questions format of 'most basic level of WR ' which was given to myself:
1738084735023.png
Which I have a printed copy off.
*1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NbCu-VkWxM - is a video which I though seems to share about mind sweep in the most simplest way, which I have never actually probably seen any other persons share about on this fourm.

So in revision - these two resources which just shared here - could or can be used for myself by myself - to try get myself "in or try form habit" of the most basic steps of a review - instead of just giving up on it altogether.

*2 example would be
I look at pointers - from type of printed sheet asana guide (which gives steps for weekly review), given to me by @René Lie in the past - over the steps physical gathering, getting empty or in to zero , mind sweep, checking or reviewing calendar and then looking at longer larger lists for example

'should I upload this now?
title could be - the most basic starting point for a weekly review for people who don't feel like they have energy or time for it.

is it worth I check in with more users?

said I could update this thread each week and see if it helps my mood?

Hi, Tim.

I watched the video at your link. What a cute animation! The mind sweep is presented in a very clear and simple way, as you mentioned. That makes it easy for me to understand. I like this clarity.

I have been thinking about you because you said in one of your posts that you feel depressed at times, and that reminded me of something. I once had a dear friend who mentioned that in the past he had suffered from depression. He said he had discovered a book that helped him recover, and that changed his life. My friend spoke very highly of that book. I wonder whether it might help you, too.

Only for healthy habits, otherwise, unhealthy habits can become vices ?

"The Chains of Habit Are Too Light To Be Felt Until They Are Too Heavy To Be Broken"

@gtdstudente

Great quote!
This is disturbingly true for many people who get caught up in unhealthy habits unintentionally and find escape extremely difficult.

Hi, Tim.

You are doing fine. All is well.

Some say that if we slow down, and if we stop rushing and pushing ourselves, and if we do only one thing at a time, and if we expose ourselves much less to the computer screen and all those dopamine hits, and if we focus on deep work, as recommended by Cal Newport, we will be much less stressed, and we will feel much better, and we will be able to get more done, and our natural rhythm and our peace of mind will be restored.

Emily

Correct. In my opinion (others may differ), we can do a lot of things one after the other, and we can keep switching tasks and overloading ourselves with too much at once, but (with the exception of certain automatic habits) we cannot do more than one thing at a time, so multi-tasking is a myth. It is a self-defeating expectation that can leave us stressed with a scattered mind, unable to get our stuff arranged so we can find it and understand it, and unable to be present to the moments of life that matter to us.

Best wishes,

Emily

Right - I would like I - to say that I agree with this sentence? that its best not to focus on multi tasking
said that the 2 sentences quote above actually aren't correct in my UK grammar however ?

Right , yes.

Tim, you certainly have learned a lot here on your own and from everyone. I admre your persistence and courage in creating your posts and in asking for help when you need it. There was a time when you could not do that, and now you can. Look how far you have come! You have a lot of skill and knowledge now that you did not have earlier. You explored the GTD guides. You found videos you liked about GTD, such as the one about a doing a mind sweep. You looked into the weekly review process. You have been learning how to use Asana. You have done so many things that I cannot even remember them all. You have made a lot of online GTD friends, too. I congratulate you on investing yourself in GTD and on continuing to explore GTD with interest and curiosity. Your energy is amazing!

Emily

Amazing in my writing? in what way would you be able to show that my energy is amazing through these fourm posts?
Warmly,

Emily

I'm surprised to see your last post like this Emily since I myself am not up to date with your posts, so I'm not sure what made you spend some time looking at mine here?

you could maybe help me more - if from my memory you have been able to set up physical GTD implement it higher than myself (from what I remember - from the small content I looked at your profile about organizing your home?

Hi, Tim. I see that you watched another animated video in that GTD Teens series. It looks like you copied parts of it and posted that on Facebook. I found and watched that video. I generally like animated videos, and I think it would be fun to create some.

You might enjoy checking out the videos at GTD Focus on YouTube that are created by GTD Focus coaches. There have many interesting videos there about different aspects of GTD. According to one of their videos I ran across, they are starting a new series of videos oriented toward beginners, and that interests me.

I haven't been able to set up a GTD system yet, so I don't think I can help you with that. However, I am still working when I can on setting up my system. I will try to post something about it soon, in case you might want to hear how its been going for me.

Best wishes,

Emily

I like this, I've been having problems with weekly review also.
I have had problems with getting inbox processed, so that seems to leave no time for weekly review. However I've now decided to separate them, and track how much time I spend each week on weekly review (excluding processing but including a mind sweep). I also am going to record my reflections in a project I call GTD.
