Fellow GTDers,

How do you able to best find anything before it shows up as was originally intended ?

The only thing superior to having is finding ?

Thank you very much. . . .

Hi gtdstudente,

I think the idea that “the only thing superior to having is finding” highlights how important it is to not just collect information but also retrieve it quickly when needed. In GTD, clear organization and consistent labeling make finding things much easier. Regular reviews keep your system fresh and help you remember where everything is. For me, using simple, searchable tools has made finding what I need fast and effortless.

Why would you want "it" before you needed it? That would be for date specific items. Otherwise your weekly review would catch it. I don't recall having to "find" anything. It is a project, its in a context, or it is on my calendar.

Your kind reply and reiterating the importance of Weekly Reviewing everything

Would this mean "That would be for date specific items." for all dates in the Tickler File and Support Files also be included in the Weekly Review to know where to "find" something prior to its 'date specific' if need be ?

Thank you very much

I use a digital calendar so if I wanted to find something (tickler) I would just search it. Any support files I have and there are not many, are next to me on my desk. I think I have six. My weekly review I look at projects and add a next action to contexts if necessary. I look at someday maybe to see if anything catches my attention. Might bring that over to projects and add the very next action to a context. But as a general rule, I put absolutely everything in my system and trust it so much I don’t need to look for anything. It just shows up when I need it.
