Today I installed a totally blank keyboard made by Das Keyboard.

The theory behind it - if you are already a touch-typist (I am) - you're typing speed will improve. You will soon be forced to learn the few keys you do not know. Their claim is even if are not a touch-typist you will soon memorize the key locations. I'll test my typing speed with an online typing tutor now and again in a few months.

It works.

Two programmers that I know use blank keyboards. They use standard keyboards with small stickers covering the key descriptions.

Yes that's how I learnt to touch type. Lesson 1 we had a normal keyboard and learnt to place the hands. Lesson 2 we come in and someone had covered all the keys with stickers. Eek!

I highly recommend learning to touch type by the way. Gives an excellent increase in productivity. I'm not perfect and usually cheat when typing numbers or symbols but something like this text is OK.
