Does a. . . .

Can you define what you mean by an Opportunity Management? Sales opportunity? …
@Y_Lherieau

On this end, while you are encouraged to decide what GTD sequence would best suit you:
Increasing "Sales" could be Area-of-Focus . . . . External . . . Enterprise . . . Context . . . Next Actions

In answering your initial question as practical as possible, appropriate Contexts, especially, at its core, is 'ALL ABOUT' prepared Opportunity Management for Mind Like Water ?

As you see GTD fit. . . .

Does a better methodology for an Opportunity Management System than GTD exist ?

Thank you very
You can manage opportunities well with GTD if you keep a clean list of active leads and review them often. You might not need a new system. A simple Projects list plus a Next Actions list already covers most of what an opportunity tracker does.

coming back to this:
an opportunity (which you decided not to take action YET), is stored in the someday-maybe list ("a potentially good idea")

Once you decide to pursue the opportunity, you run the clarification process aand create the next action(s), and usually a project.
It is no more an opportunity, but a project.

hope this helps

I don't know about managing opportunities. Being open to serendipity can lead the way to some of the best opportunities.

@cfoley

Very nice . . . 'Serendipity Management' seemingly more squarely expresses 'Opportunity Management'

Perhaps a further GTD refinement: 'Serendipity Strategist'

Thank you for extending quite the GTD gift

Thank you very much sir
