Anyone got any thoughts on how to integrate GTD into conventional plans - I need to develop a marketing plan for an entire year. I cant quite see how to fit this into the GTD model...

I don't think its all that difficult. You simply have drill down into these responsibilities if they are too large and figure out what the first project is as part of the responsibility. For example, it might be to gather the data on resources and budget for the plan. But that's not yet a next action.
