GTD Connect Moving to New Platform???

I've been to the new forum and it's nearly impossible to see and respond to threads of interest. I DON'T like the wasted white space, big placard styles and no way to see on a single page or screen at least the top 8-10 most recent topics. I much prefer old style forums where I can pick and choose the topics I am interested in form a clean list menu. Here are some examples of problems: Here is a section but I can only see 2 things, if I scroll I can see 3. Look at the nice clean second and third images. Plenty of useful data, no wasted white space and easy to navigate and figure out how to respond to things I am interested in. I do not have the time to scroll through page after page of facebook like junk displays to hit the few things I find useful, interesting or that I feel I can add value to. I am unlikely to participate much over there at all. I will miss this forum if it's shut down.

I have to agree. It feels much better every time I return to this forum. Maybe it just needs some time, but I find the new setup far from ideal, which makes it less inviting to participate. Maybe some simplification of all the screens will help. I hope it improves soon.
 
Question from outside the fold .. will the PUBLIC forums remain as is or are they moving too?
(I too am a fan of the older style of forum)

...assuming "GTD connect" refers to the paid subscription platform and not the whole DA forums site
 
There's been so little activity here in recent years that I barely check. Surprisingly, they still moderate to keep out spammers. A couple months ago there was a new poster whose replies seemed AI-ish, who always quoted a previous reply, but added a spam link to the quote. The mods got rid of those posts. I like the posts from those of you who are veterans here and write coherently. But frankly, even if you very few got back to posting often, it wouldn't turn it around. Text-based forums just aren't what most people want these days.

Could you elaborate? I find the Mighty Networks GTD forum deeply unsatisfying. It reminds me of Facebook, which I have never found engaging. I agree with a recent NYT opinion piece arguing that Facebook (and Meta) are starting to fade, and will soon join AOL and Yahoo in irrelevance. Mighty’s crude attempts at promoting engagement do not seem to be working; instead, both forums have been relatively inactive.

Once in a while I get a new follower who seems a bit "shady" (no pun intended), and I report them to the admin, who then takes action.

Maybe most people don't want text based forums, but I must say that I personally appreciate it. Then again, most people are on Instagram and TikTok and I am not - guess I'm just not like most people...

I am about to either delete the Mighty app from my phone or silence notifications. It keeps pushing notifications telling me I need to keep up my streak and I also get email notifications saying the same thing. I have Mighty fatigue and I'm not even using the app at this point due to no activity.

Isn't that a false dichotomy...? Not liking and not going to use are two different things - if/when the old platform closed down, I'll be more active on the new one for sure! But I must say that there are too many bells and whistles for my liking...

I emailed some folks from my work address, and still had replies questioning if the invitation is real. Using the invite form in the new platform had the same result, with members then emailing me, or messaging here, to make sure it's legit.

I received the email and it said I would get a year free on the new platform and then when I click the link and create an account with my same email as here it is saying only 2 weeks free and then full charge, but my subscription here is good till fall...

I am using the Mighty app but I feel GTD needs a discord server. Easy to jump in and get help/ help other people.

Obsidian, Johnny Decimal, Programming, LLM provider servers have a Home at Discord. And it's super quick to jump between different servers/ topics.

Yeah, I am not a huge fan of the Might forum style, with big cards even with the "List View" option turned on (I just recently discovered that I could change from Feed View to List View).
If this forum is deactivated, I will miss it, but I am sure I will be able to adapt to the new one.
But the experience with the Mighty app on my iPhone Mini is terrible, so I uninstalled it.
Which is okay with me, I much rather prefer interacting in forums on the big screen anyway.

Often preferring 'DOS-esque' websites . . . easy to engage on the front-end . . . and perhaps easier to administer on the back-end ?

Oh, I was out of action the last few months and now coming back to see this thread that that email was legit.
