Notepad refills for GTD Notetaker Wallet

I'm not ready to give up using my GTD Notetaker Wallet. Unfortunately, now that David Allen Company has discontinued the sale of its physical products I need to find an alternative for the notepad refills. The problem is that nothing I've found so far is the right size. The notepads are 2 1/4" by 4 3/8", and all the mini notepads I've found so far are 3" x 5" at the smallest. Does anyone know of where I can find alternative notepads in the right size? Thanks.

“Suffice it to say that something automatic and extraordinary happens in your mind when you create and focus on a clear picture of what you want.” -- David Allen :)

That something being Amazon places an ad in the middle of an online Washington Post article I'm reading?

I see you found an alternative but I've also got another option, if you take the standard one page per day desktop calendars like this one
http://www.calendars.com/Dilbert/Di...52/?categoryId=cat2420055&seoCatId=cat2420055
Then you can cut the old pages in half and staple them to a cardboard and use them. They are a bit larger than the notepad ones but work very well. Some of those desk calendars have stuff on the back, for those you have to cut them down by hand crosswise to avoid the printing and only get one note page per calendar page.

Which brings up a point for me. I really wish Davidco would make a new version of the notetaker wallet that is RFID protected and uses standard 3 x 5 spiral bound notepads.

The vendor we ordered from in the last few years is USA Custom Pad. They also sell direct to consumers. Here is a link to their page that has various pads.

We stocked item #24BW that you'll see about halfway down that page. They also have ivory in that size, as well as lined white or ivory.

Exactly! (Or that you noticed it, when you might not have before expressing the desired outcome -- )

Well, I Googled "mini notepads" and and clicked on a few links, which deposited some cookies on my computer which triggered the Amazon ads. But you could argue that, yes, it all started with outcome visioning. ;)

For me the USA Custom Pad option is perfect, since they carry the product DAC was using. I'm very happy I don't have to abandon my notetaker wallet. I've tried using my smartphone as my capture tool and it never felt quite right. I'm sure I could have made the adjustment, but it's nice not to have to.

First, I want to say how sorry I was not to be able to reorder a GTD notetaker wallet. Second, My bad for not paying attention to the availability, but mine (plural) have been great tools. If there is enough interest in a run of these, please count me in for a few. Great design, well executed. Finally, I can understand that the demand for these may have waned in the digital age. Thank you for the original idea and execution.

I would echo the idea for a new run but I have three design changes. Make the paper note part hold a standard top spiral bound 3x5 notebook, make the credit card sections hold 2 cards side by side like an Allett wallet so that the total thickness is reduced and add RFID screening.

Here is a link to Allett - The only problem is no place to put a notepad. https://www.all-ett.com/product/ultra-slim-original-wallet/

Here is a place I found a wallet that is like what I want but the leather is thick and it doesn't carry as many cards as I need. I have one and the size and features are nearly perfect, just the implementation is a bit off. It needs the extra card carrying flap that the notetaker wallets had and it would be better if it was from thinner leather or from nylon or cordura.

I'd like both a leather and a cordura or nylon option and I'd probably buy both of them.

If there was another run, I would buy at least one. Even with my digital capture tools, the little slips of paper have helped me so much ... and I purchased a TON of these pads. Thanks, John: https://usapad.com/memo-pad-refills.html

John Forrister, is the vendor who produced the notetaker wallet still around? Could we order direct?

Hi Josh,

We used a vendor called Yamani, and they're still around.

However, the wallets were a custom order, rather than a product that they generally made.

While I don't know of anything exactly like the wallet we carried, there are some interesting options.

https://www.levenger.com/Shirt-Pocket-Briefcase--Core-2398.aspx
(the second two have 3x5 cards as Oogie mentioned)

There are quite a few options here, including travel cases that are more than wallets.

And of course a search on Amazon or similar sites brings up lots of others.

Both Levenger ones require separate 3 x 5 cards not the cheap spiral bound notebooks. I have one of them too but it's not nearly as easy to use as the notetaker wallets are. The cards are held top and bottom so you can't easilt slide the back cover of a standard notebook in to use it. The versions that carry credit cards all use the typical fan stacking style.

What everyone misses except Allett is the design of holding credit cards side by side not stacked. That reduces the thickness of the wallet at the expense of a slightly larger footprint. The reduced thickness is a great boon if you carry the wallet in a pocket.

I wish I'd had known DAC intended to discontinue the notetaker wallets. They're terrific, and people ask me where to get one all the time when they see me jotting down notes. I would buy several if there's ever another batch offered.

I too would buy a handful if these go back into production. My last one is wearing thin, but I don't want to give it up.
