Access to Work can provide a range of support and a workplace needs assessment where an assessor suggests a package of support.
Essentially, you describe the struggled you're having at work and then they offer and offer some funding for a solution.
For example:

If you struggle with skills like Time Management, Memory, Literacy and Organisation, communication (and more), coaching is often recommended.

If you finding reading and proof reading difficult, you might want software which reads to you.

If you experience pain or difficulties expressing yourself in writing then speech recognition like Dragon Professional may be suggested.

Way too much to explain concisely in writing.
Or about your brainstorming technique Chris - you've written text trying to describe a method of mind mapping you do

and 'I've herd this before from authors on "mental models, etc ' - haven't myself though felt like mastered it

Idea- its worth I ask you to upload images or content in what ever way - to show exactly your brainstorming process (and then try it ,test for myself -you understand T C
 
Not in my case. I stay up until I can get to a place to write it down then my mind lets go. So for me, learning to write without any lights and my eyes closed is critical to getting a good nights sleep when I wake up with ideas. I no longer open my eys, I just reach over grab my pen and notebook, write then roll over and go back to sleep. easy, peasy.

where im writing here basically because im still confused about this topic? - why yourself wrote certain things in theory about sleep

then other x persons such as M - has given me advice : if I am tried - just try to go to sleep and not over think for example - don't be thinking about things while sleeping?
